Hey folks! This is Kolten from Next Gen Remodels.

Welcome to another Q&A session where I answer questions from y'all on the internet.

Today's question is:

"Do I Need to Replace Ductwork When Installing a New AC Unit?"

Answer from Kolten

A question about HVAC. If I were to get a remodel, do I need to replace duct work when installing a new furnace or AC unit?

Not necessarily. What we can do is take out the old AC unit and install a new one and tie it into the ducting, but we like to get all the ducting inspected by a licensed HVAC professional. That way, we can ensure that we're not just putting a brand-new unit into broken ducts.

Short Summary

When asked if ductwork needs to be replaced when installing a new furnace or AC unit during a remodel. Kolten Redfield explained that new units can be tied into existing ducting, but they recommend having a licensed HVAC professional inspect all ducting to ensure that new units are not connected to damaged systems
