Welcome to another Q&A session where I answer questions from y'all on the internet.
Today's question is:
Well, in that case, I mean, I'm always gonna say I'm the right contractor for the job. But, uh, you really wanna make sure that that person aligns with your interests, right? So, you're gonna want to obviously make sure they're licensed, bonded, and insured. Those are gonna be one of the super key factors in if they, you know, if something does go wrong, if they have the money to back it as far as insurance goes. And being licensed to do the job usually entails that you actually do know what you're doing and you're not going to mess up. As far as choosing your own contractor, it's, you know, your own opinion, right? Let's say there's somebody that specializes in new construction builds and you're looking to build a new house. That is probably going to be a contractor you want to align yourself with. Let's say you are just doing an insurance restoration because your house flooded or it caught on fire in an area or something along those lines where insurance has to be involved. You're gonna want to hire someone that actually specializes in working with insurance companies. They know how to work with insurance companies and they know how to do the work post-mitigation or fire remediation to get things back to where they need to be.
To choose the right contractor, they must be licensed, bonded, and insured (key for backing costs if something goes wrong).
