Welcome to another Q&A session where I answer questions from y'all on the internet.
Today's question is:
"Well, it depends on the location of the house. So, the most expensive is gonna be the spray foam. It's also kind of a pain to work with after the fact. If you have spray foam insulation, you might not have as good of access to your electrical or plumbing that's running through the walls because it's been covered by the spray foam, which can cause potential issues down the road if there were to be a leak.
That's gonna be your most effective form of insulation though, because it actually gets in every single crack and fills it up. What we what's standard and what we typically do is batt insulation, which is the fiberglass rolls or, you know, batts that you see that slip right in between the studs.
that's gonna be pretty standard for exterior walls, crawl space, stuff like that. You see the blown-in up in the attic. That's because it's hard to get up in there and shuffle around in some of those tight spots where the roof gets a little tight, you know? You can't get in there.
So what we do is we do a blow-in insulation up top. We put all of our machines up there and run our tubes from the truck, blow in all that insulation and make sure that it is filled all the way."
Kolten Redfield stated that spray foam is the most expensive and effective due to its ability to fill every crack, but it can hinder access to electrical and plumbing; fiberglass bat insulation is standard for exterior walls and crawl spaces, while blown-in insulation is used in attics for hard-to-reach areas.
