Hey folks! This is Kolten from Next Gen Remodels.

Welcome to another Q&A session where I answer questions from y'all on the internet.

Today's question is:

"What’s the Difference Between Retrofit Windows and Full Frame Windows?"

"What’s the Difference Between Retrofit Windows and Full Frame Windows?"

Answer from Kolten

So retrofit is going to actually slide into the opening, and then we're going to screw it into the framing around the actual frame of it. The, uh, the other style, nail and flange, is going to be inserted into that opening, but it has a little bit of play each way, and then you screw through the flanges.

So it's a similar process. It's just slightly different on how they're secured.

Short Summary

When asked about the difference between retrofit and full-frame replacement windows. Kolten Redfield explained that retrofit windows slide into an opening and are screwed into the framing, while the nail and flange style windows are inserted with some play and then screwed through their flanges, making them similar processes with slight differences in securing
